The Cavendish School

Cavendish School is an all girl’s school with a friendly and warm atmosphere. The school was traditionally Catholic but is not explicitly catholic any more and welcomes children from all faiths and backgrounds. The school is located near Regents Park and is housed in a modernized and extended Victorian building with a secluded playground and netball court. It is surprisingly spacious and boasts a modern wing with auditorium and impressive modern classrooms. The school is academic with a good scholarship record both academic and music and impressive exit results at 11+. The 2010 ISI report rated the school ‘excellent’ overall particularly commending the broad curriculum, pupil’s spiritual development and teaching staff. Specialist teachers are provided in Spanish, Music, PE, French and Ballet and class sizes are on average a maximum of 20. French is introduced in nursery class and continues throughout the school, Mandarin Chinese is then introduced in Year 4 with Latin available as an after school club. The school’s broad curriculum is reflected in pupil’s high achievements in speech and drama as well as music qualifications, science and Maths awards. The school also offers flexible hours with morning and after school clubs on offer to extend the school day when necessary. The school includes a nursery class where boys have been able to attend but from September 2019 C girls only. Girls go onto a range of strong senior schools including, city of London, Francis Holland, Queens College, Channing and South Hampstead High.
