Activities parents can do with 3 year olds
* When your child turns 3 you can begin to extend into some more focused work. Some nurseries and schools look for name recognition and then for your child to be able to write their name from memory. You can start encouraging this do this by labeling a number of your children’s belongings, for example cup, coat, wellies, socks and encouraging them to identify who it belongs to and what name is written. You can also use magnetic letters on a white board or fridge and help your child to find the letters to make up their name. Gradually when they show evidence of having a good pencil grip you can encourage them to trace over name cards or fill in dotted letters.
